Release Management

No more having to configure multiple build "types". AnthillPro's Living Build concept changes all of that. One Living Build is used for the different build types — Continuous Integration builds, nightly builds, deployment builds, and release builds are all performed under the Living Build umbrella. In addition, the Living Build ties together all the information from AnthillPro's rich and growing set of integrations with:

  • Issue trackers (Bugzilla, ClearQuest, JIRA).
  • Source code repositories (CVS, Subversion, ClearCase, AccuRev, Harvest, Mercurial and more).
  • Build tools like Maven and NAnt.
  • Test tools such as JUnit, Clover, and Quality Center.
  • And many more integrations!

Living Builds are also at the heart of AnthillPro's compliance solution that provides complete, out-of -the-box traceability, auditability, and role-based security:

  • All deployed artifacts are guaranteed to be traceable to the exact source code used to produce them.
  • Every build, promotion, deployment, and release is audited.
  • Gates can be set up to control deployment, requiring manual intervention while providing an audit trail.
  • Reports detailing the exact user that kicked off a build, or deployed a set of artifacts, are included.
  • Role-based security means that some users can deploy a project to the DEV environment, other users may deploy the same project artifacts to the QA environment, and another set of users may deploy the artifacts to Production. The roles and authentication can come from LDAP or Active Directory.

The bundled Codestation artifact repository helps you manage your third-party libraries, in addition to your compiled artifacts. This ensures that only approved versions are used in your deployments.
